  • Robert R. Pusins has been providing professional case consulting services to attorneys and governmental agencies since 1997. He has been recognized and testified in courts in the United States as an expert in police practices and procedures utilized by the police in the performance of their duties.

  • Robert R. Pusins is a former (retired) Police Major of the Fort Lauderdale Police Department, Florida (1974-2004). He has over 30 years of progressive law enforcement experience with the Fort Lauderdale Police Department, an accreditated agency with over 500 sworn police officers. He has advanced through the ranks during his public service career and served in the Operations, Investigative and Administrative Bureaus. He has held the title of police officer, field training officer, detective, sergeant, captain, commander, major and assistant chief. He spent over 20 years in a supervision, command or management position.  

  • His command responsibilities included the review of over two hundred allegations of police misconduct ranging from use of force, violations of policies and procedures, police vehicle pursuits, K-9 apprehensions and police vehicle crashes. Also, he served for 5 years as a member of the Fort Lauderdale Citizen Review Board, which examined all Internal Affairs investigations of police misconduct. He has developed numerous policies, procedures and programs and has extensive training and experience in assessing personnel and policies for law enforcement agencies. Further, he has been certified and served as an assessor by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA).

  • He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree (Sociology) from the University of South Florida and is a graduate of the FBI National Academy. He is also a graduate of the University of Louisville's Southern Police Institute. He has extensive training and experience in the areas of investigations, supervision, leadership and management during his career and has been the recipient of over 100 commendations and awards.
